1. **Always Use a Ruler:** Use a ruler rather than a tape measure. Due to their flexibility, tape measures can often be inaccurate. Also, the silver tip at the end can bend and become distorted with age and use. A solid ruler will give you the precision needed.

2. **Measure To the Nearest 1/8th Inch:** When measuring, please do not record your measurements any smaller than 1/8th of an inch. For example, measuring in 1/16 of an inch will not allow for measuring errors or errors in a tape measure if a tape measure is used instead of a ruler. This level of detail ensures the best fit for your book. 

3. **Round Up If In Between:** If your measurement falls between two 1/8th inch marks, round up to the next 1/8th inch. Always opt for slightly larger measurements to ensure a more comfortable fit. 

4. **Measure Yourself:** Do not rely on measurements provided by websites or other sources. It's crucial to measure your book yourself. Website measurements are often inaccurate and usually involve one of two things: they frequently provide the measurement of the box the book/Bible will be shipped in, or they give a rough estimate of the book's measurements.
